The bustle

I, Mike, was recently in the US for a short stay. I made the lonely flight to Pennsylvania to get together with some friends, preach at New Providence Mennonite Church and to attend four days of meetings with an organization we're with which is helping to equip leaders to make better and more disciples of Jesus. It was a quick trip, in which I missed my girls, but got to see some familiar faces too. Thanks to all of you who made it possible. (*cough* Bowmans *cough*)

Our girls are doing well. Anika is enjoying school, learning German grammar and multiplication at the moment. Naomi is still in pre-school with her buddies. Madeline is at home yet and loves to play dolls with her sisters and mama when she can talk them into it. Growing like weeds. I'm enjoying our girls at this stage of their development. They pretty much rock. When I got home I was smothered in little hugs and love. Like I said, they rock!

FSJ, our discipleship program, is getting pumped to head out on April 12 to fly to the strange and distant land of Moldova. It's right next door to the Ukraine, but no worries. We're going to be alright. We're actually excited to go. Bird is going with for a week this year. That will give her a little insight into the stories she has heard over the last two years. She'll get to meet the awesome people for the awesome churches from the awesome villages of this very, very, very, cool land. My mom, Margaret, is coming to watch the little ladies while we're gone with the team. Bless her heart.

Right now Roberta and I are struggling with how to balance our family life with work. It's never so easy because we live in the Elim Zentrum, go to church there, work there, and pretty much revolve around this neighborhood. We have a great life in a cool city. We know all kinds of people from all over the world. We have opportunities all around us to touch peoples lives. But with that comes the need for discipline: to know when to go home, to say no and call it a day. We're finding our way, but it isn't easy. Some days are too much. We hardly see each other, communicate too little and it becomes obvious very quickly.

Please pray that we find the healthy balance.

Love yous,

Mike
